Annette Funicello (born Annette Funicello) was an American musician, actress and performer. She was most well-known as one of the Mickey Mouse Club's "Mouseketeers". Her career in singing began when she was an young adolescent. Annette was born in Utica to Italian parents. In her early years, she was prone to shyness. Once she made the decision to begin working within the field began dancing and performing. The mid-1950s saw her gain a significant amount of recognition due to her roles as a character in "Disney" sketches. Annette shed her Disney image when she became an adult, and started to take on roles for adults. Being one of the first performers, Annette was credited for introducing the "beach" type of entertainment. Her roles included "Pajama Parties", 'How to Stuff a Wild Bikini", and "Beach Party'. She continued to make music albums. Annette was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1992. She died from this disease in the year 2013.
